About AK Insurance Partners

I'm Andrew Katz. I grew up in the Baltimore area, graduated from the University of Maryland, and founded AK Insurance Partners in 2025 to bring dependable, plain-English insurance advice to individuals, families and businesses.

Most people buy insurance once, file it away, and only find out what it really covers after something goes wrong. I'd rather you find out now. When I quote a policy, I walk you through the parts that matter: the liability limits, the deductibles, what is and isn't covered, and what the cheaper option gives up.

How I work

• I'm independent. I can quote several carriers, so my job is finding the right fit for you, not selling one company's product.
• You deal with me. There's no support team behind the curtain and no account manager you'll be shuffled off to later. I answer the phone, send the emails and handle the details.
• The renewal matters as much as the sale. Rates and lives change. I review your coverage again at renewal instead of letting it roll over on autopilot.
• Service over commission. If the right answer is a smaller policy, or staying where you are, that's what I'll recommend.

What I insure

Personal lines are the heart of the agency: homeowners, auto, umbrella, condo and renters insurance. I also insure rental properties and small businesses, and I help families put term life insurance in place.

Where I work

AK Insurance Partners is based in Pikesville, and most of my clients are in Maryland. I'm also licensed in Washington, DC, Virginia, Delaware and Illinois. Most of my work happens by phone, email and video, and I'm glad to meet in person when that's more helpful.
